Marzo-2007/Surfing Favela fue seleccionada para el Festival Internacional de Cine de Mar del Plata. El documental tuvo su exitosa presentación en la sección Vitrina Argentina del Festival y luego fue seleccionada entre las mejores películas para integrar la sección Maratón de Cine, que reúne a los mejores films del Festival.

Julio-2006/María Laura Ruggiero asistió a los Prestigiosos seminarios “Screenwriter as Storyteller” y “Creating Deep Characters” en Los Angeles y San Francisco. Los seminarios fueron impartidos por el Profesor Tom Schlesinger.

March 2007/Surfing Favela was selected for the Mar del Plata International Film Festival.The documentary had a series of succesful screenings in the prestigious Argentine Showcase section of the Festival.Later on, the film was selected for the Marathon Section which groups the best films of the festival.
